Don't let the description of the internal springs fool you. This is no gimmick. I thought they were at first until I was convinced to try on a pair in a she store. I was converted immediately. These shoes do, indeed, put a spring in your step. They don't actually bounce, but you can definitely feel them absorbing and softening the impact of each step. The feeling was even more pronounced when on hard surfaces like concrete sidewalks. It even softens the impact of walking down stairs. My wife, who has constant foot problems, fell in love with them immediately. They are well constructed and durable. We've worn them for 6 months now with no complaints.
Just one con; since they are leather they can tend to be a little warm, but this is not enough to deduct a star for.
I am definitely considering their Del Rio sandals. |

| I walk 2.5 miles a day to my school where I teach first grade. I'm on my feet all day. I'm 59 years old and regularly wow my first graders with vertical jumps on to tables in the room to emphasize a point or just to liven things up. I wear Spiras and wouldn't want to work a day without them. There's just nothing out there to compare with them. They are the best! |

My husband has plantar fascitis. His heels were hurting him terribly. He is on his feet all day at work and we had tried every over the counter insole available, and, a custom made orthotic insole that actually made the pain worse. We had tried Nike, New Balance, Propet, Dr. Scholls, and Reebok shoes and didn't get any relief with any of them. These Spira shoes in a wide width (E) provided relief. The problem isn't entirely healed, he still experiences pain daily. But I have absolutely no doubt that if not for these shoes he would not be able to work right now. He has been wearing them for about six weeks and I can't anticipate ever buying another brand of work shoe for him. Will probably invest in a pair for everyday also.
